Újezd lies in the Haná region, about 4 km east of Uničov. The municipality consists of Újezd, Haukovice and Rybníček. Újezd has a railway station on the Olomouc–Šumperk line.

The Baroque Church of St John the Baptist in Újezd dates from the early 17th century, and its presbytery was completed in 1722. The municipality also includes the Chapel of St Florian in Rybníček, built in 1834, and the Chapel of the Holy Family in Haukovice, built in 1923.
