The municipality of Svésedlice is in the district of Olomouc. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1370, when the nobleman Medvědek acquired it.

The oldest landmark in Svésedlice is a reconciliation cross dating from 1547, which stands in front of the former school. The former school building, dating from 1902, now houses a mixed-goods shop and the village community hall. The Chapel of St Thomas and St Francis replaced a wooden bell tower; the cross in front of the chapel dates from 1855. The company Havel Composites CZ is based in Svésedlice and supplies materials for laminating and making composite parts.
