The municipality of Lutín comprises Lutín and the local part of Třebčín. It lies in the floodplain of the Blata stream, west of Olomouc. The first written record of the municipality dates from 1234.

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, dating from 1756, stands in Lutín. At the crossroads of the roads to Třebčín and Slatinice is a protected statue of a kneeling angel with a cross. The Empire-style Chapel of St Florian, at Lutín’s southern edge by the road to Olšany, is a listed cultural monument; it was restored in 2019 and reconsecrated in 2020.
